U.S. MARKET UPDATE


The US markets closed around half a percent lower and are on track to log their worst week this year as economic concerns over China and the Euro zone in terms of PMI figures suggesting contraction in the manufacturing sector overshadowed a better-than-expected jobless claims report. The S&P 500 slumped 10 points, closing below the 1,400 milestone, led lower primarily by mining, material and commodity stocks.
Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.6% or 78.48 points at 13046.14. Nasdaq Composite was down 0.39% or 12 points at 3063.32. Standard & Poor’s 500 was down 0.72% or 10.11 points at
