ASIAN STOCK

Asian shares edged higher on Friday, tracking overnight gains in global equities markets after firm U.S. data signaled strength in the world’s largest economy, lifting sentiment ahead of a batch of economic indicators from China later in the day.

U.S. STOCK

U.S. government debt prices fell on Thursday, as surprisingly strong data on the housing market raised hopes of the U.S. economy accelerating, and spurred investors to buy stocks and growth-oriented assets and sell low-risk bonds.

DOLLAR

The dollar was at 89.75 yen on Friday and the euro was at 119.92 yen.

The euro hit 120.615 yen, its highest since May 2011.

U.S. TREASURY

U.S. Treasury debt prices fell on Thursday, weakened by stronger economic data that favoured riskier assets over safe-haven debt.

LME COPPER

Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange  traded little changed at $8,046.50 a tonne, down 0.09 percent from the previous session when it closed up more than 1 percent.
