U.S. MARKET UPDATE

U.S. stocks slipped on Monday with the S&P 500 on track for its first monthly decline since November after reports hinted at a stalled U.S. recovery and Spain sank into recession, underscoring nagging euro zone stresses.
The Dow Jones industrial average ended down 14.68 points, or 0.11%, at 13,213.63. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index closed down 5.45 points, or 0.39%, at 1,397.91. The Nasdaq Composite was down 22.84 points, or 0.74%, at 3,046.36.
