The Dow Jones industrial average gained 67.98 points, or 0.50 percent, to 13,780.19. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index added 1.36 points, or 0.09 percent, to 1,493.92. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 11.50 points, or 0.37 percent, to 3,154.68.
